Birds have special meaning to many different people, and this is especially true for cardinals. They are very striking birds, and some believe that they are male relatives that have passed coming to visit you. I’m not sure about this, but when I went into labor at 22 and a half weeks, I saw a cardinal out the car window anytime I ran errands or went anywhere. I was paranoid that it was my little guy coming to visit, and I will receive a phone call within a couple of minutes telling me that he went in peace. He’s four now. I firmly believe that there was a message sent, and people were trying to visit, but I was too stressed to receive the message.
Another bird that is really striking, but is generally thought of as a female visitor is the blue jay. They’re very protective mothers, and I’ve been seeing them everywhere this fall. I’ve been enjoying as many hugs as I can from my little guy before he goes off to kindergarten. There will be a time when he won’t be as little, and I’m going to really miss it.
Then there’s the gold finch. The unofficial messenger of spring. They turn a bright yellow, and they bring the sun everywhere they go. Such cute social little birds.
