In October and November squirrels are scrambling to gather as many nuts as they can, find a cozy corner to gather leaves and create a nest, and then hibernate during winter. Sound familiar? Yep, I’m a bit of a squirrel too, especially when the weather becomes cooler. It’s also easy to overindulge during the holiday season, so packing on the pounds and layering sweaters is common in humans too.
It’s amazing how these little critters love to take food from bird feeders too. I recommend searching for videos on YouTube. Most people aren’t disappointed when watching the acrobatics, or lack thereof, when they steal food intended for birds. Sometimes they fail miserably too, and a lot of times that’s even funnier. It must be something about the bushy tail and cute little, expressive, black eyes that make all the difference.
