Nothing screams like spring and summer like the croak of frogs and toads.  As a kid I used to catch them at the lake, but they will always manage to get away from me.  I have a little guy, and I have a feeling that he will be catching frogs and toads fairly soon too. When I eventually was able to catch them my parents and grandparents would always tease me that I should kiss them.  Um, no, but I would keep them as pets until I had to go home.  I suppose I did that to a lot of boyfriends while in high school.  It wasn’t until college that I started to seriously start kissing the frogs and toads, and it’s important to keep yourself safe from warts.

The frogs and toads from the Budweiser commercials are also legendary, and whenever I see multiple frogs sitting on a log, that’s immediately what comes to mind.  I’m from Minnesota, so Budweiser was never my brew, but Miller Lite and Michelob were my go-to when I wasn’t drinking anything local.  However, I didn’t start drinking heavily until I started working at Walmart.  I worked at the fabric counter, and it really wasn’t that bad of a job, and the majority of the second shift were college students.  I had a couple of friends who were Walmart career people, and life for them seemed bleak, even in their early twenties.  I hope that they got out and found their path.  I don’t drink much anymore, and I feel better sober.  There’s too much to do, and I really dislike starting the next day foggy.  When I was in my early twenties, I didn’t have much planned, and I recovered easier.  I just had to take care of myself, and that was enough for me at the time.

Yes, I found my prince amongst the toads and frogs, and I had to kiss a couple of losers to find him.  It wasn’t that bad, and at times it was fun.  My little polliwog is going to start kindergarten soon, and it’s going to be hard to see him swim away.  In the meantime, there’s always summer.
